Chisom Felix makes complex technology easy to understand. As the Marketing Lead for Nigeria at a Global company, she has spent seven years helping users navigate Web3 and cryptocurrency, focusing on those who need it most. Her work spans product launches, driving adoption, and implementing strategies that deliver real impact, yet her influence extends far beyond corporate goals.
Through her personal brand, Somehcrypto, Chisom has built a community of over 100,000 followers, where she teaches, mentors, and empowers the next generation of marketers and Web3 leaders. In an industry often dominated by hype, she takes a different approach: she educates. Her focus on accessibility and youth empowerment shows that blockchain and crypto don’t have to be exclusive to tech experts or the wealthy.
At a time when Africa leads the world in cryptocurrency adoption but many still lack basic banking access, Chisom Felix’s work bridges the gap between innovation and inclusion, demonstrating that adoption thrives when technology is explained clearly, strategically, and with lasting impact.
Chisom, you’ve worked across Web3, crypto, B2B, and B2C ecosystems for seven years. Can you take us through your journey and what has shaped you most along the way?
My journey over the past seven years has been driven by a passion for making complex technology accessible and meaningful. As a marketing expert leading growth for global companies in the blockchain industry, my work goes beyond campaigns; it’s about building trust, designing scalable strategies, and creating frameworks that drive adoption and lasting impact. I’ve led product launches, connected audiences with technology, and implemented initiatives that strengthen ecosystems. My career has been shaped by continuous learning, strategic thinking, and a focus on delivering measurable results. Maintaining a growth mindset, upskilling, developing soft skills, and keeping pace with industry trends have enabled me to lead teams, drive adoption, and adapt in an evolving sector.
As a marketing leader in Web3, what strategies have you found most effective for building trust while engaging new audiences and penetrating new markets?
I take an education-first approach to building trust with users, clearly explaining how the technology works, demonstrating its real value, and helping users feel confident engaging with it. By combining localized strategies, community engagement, and storytelling, I create connections that drive adoption, empower users, and deliver lasting impact.
In your opinion, what does true inclusivity look like in this predominantly male-dominated space, and how can women carve out meaningful roles in it?
True inclusivity means everyone has equal access to opportunities, mentorship, and decision-making roles. When women have the support and space to learn, lead, and take risks, they can carve out meaningful roles by building expertise, putting their work and ideas out there, and supporting each other. It’s about showing that women aren’t just participants, they’re leaders shaping the future of the industry.
From your experience, what have you had to prove in your profession that a man in your position might not have to?
It’s not about proving myself, it’s about being competent. I focus on being knowledgeable, showing strong leadership, and having a clear vision. What’s important is that everyone, regardless of gender, has equal access to opportunities to demonstrate their skills and make an impact.
What structural changes do you believe are necessary to make the industry more welcoming for the next generation of women?
The Web3 and blockchain technology industry needs to create clear pathways for women through mentorship programs, inclusive hiring, and visible role models. It also needs to provide spaces where women can learn, experiment, and be recognized for their contributions. When opportunities and support are available, the next generation of women can thrive and lead in this space.
Beyond the technical side of your work, how do you take care of yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically while navigating such a high-pressure environment?
Beyond the technical side of my work, I prioritize my health and wellness by setting boundaries and making time to rest and reflect. Routines keep me grounded, and a supportive community of peers and friends helps me stay balanced mentally and emotionally. It’s about building habits that let me show up fully without burning out.
What role has mentorship or community played in your journey, and how can women support one another more effectively in emerging industries like Web3?
Mentorship and community have been critical in my blockchain journey. Web3 thrives on community collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and collective growth, which drive innovation. Learning from experienced builders and connecting with peers has helped me navigate this fast-moving industry. For women in Web3, supporting each other means sharing knowledge, amplifying each other’s work, connecting one another to opportunities, and creating safe spaces to experiment and learn. When we lift each other up, we strengthen the ecosystem and open doors for the next generation of women in blockchain.
To the young women reading this and thinking, “I want to do what Chisom is doing,” what do you want her to know about herself and her potential?
If you want to do what I’m doing, you have to take the first step. Be willing to learn and grow through the process. With curiosity and persistence, you are more powerful than you think. Growth isn’t linear and doesn’t happen in your comfort zone, take on roles that challenge or even scare you. There are a lot of opportunities for those who show up, take risks, and build their skills. Believe in yourself, take space, and don’t wait for permission. Your ideas and perspective matter, and the industry needs them.
Finally, when you look ahead, what excites you most about the future of women in tech and finance, and where do you see yourself contributing to that vision?
What excites me most is seeing more women leading innovation in tech and finance, especially in blockchain technology and Web3. I see a future where women aren’t just participating, they’re building ecosystems, creating opportunities, and shaping the industry. I will continue contributing by mentoring talent, building communities, and creating accessible learning spaces so more women can thrive, grow their careers, take leadership roles, find their voices, and make their ideas heard. The more we lift each other, the stronger the entire ecosystem becomes.
