Joy Ikedinma Jacob is a service oriented humanitarian and a young leader with a mission to display the richness and cultural ethnic values within the Nigerian Community in New York. She moved to New York with nothing but a dream and aspiration of how to better her life and those she left behind in Nigeria.

With the goals of pursuing a successful career as a healthcare manager, Entrepreneur and humanitarian, she dug deep and concentrated on her education, completing a baccalaureate degree in Healthcare Service Administration, and currently working on her Master’s degree. As part of her dedication to the services of others, after graduation from college, she led several medical and educational missions to Nigeria and more recently, began working on an NGO whose mission is to find, appreciate and promote women with strong goals and interest in promoting the Nigerian culture and supporting causes related to education and women’s empowerment.

Currently, she is the Founder of Empower 4 Change inc a non profit organization whose mission is to help supplement the educational needs of youths in rural Nigeria by implementing a technological and computer based learning center catering to these disadvantaged youths and also the Director of the Miss Nigeria USA pageant, a pageant she started with the aim of raising the profile of the Nigerian woman to expand their opportunities while illuminating their outer beauty and also to empower women by creating a forum and opportunity for competition among the most brilliant and beautiful women of Nigeria.

Joy has created a blueprint that will proclaim her ability to lead, inspire and uplift women for years to come. She has always pushed past her comfort zones to get things done because she stands on the shoulders of giants who have paved the way for her, just like she hopes to pave the way for many young girls still to come.

On “Women Supporting Women”…
Women supporting, encouraging and mentoring other women could possibly be the height of a woman’s success.  What we women don’t understand is that we are our key to success. Rather than tearing each other apart, we have the opportunity to gain more power, friendship, knowledge and wisdom from each other, which we wouldn’t get if we hate each other so much.
