Ibiyemi Fasipe is a senior business analyst, certified product manager, and project management professional with over a decade of experience. Her journey into tech wasn’t paved with certainty or ease. After relocating from Nigeria to the United Kingdom, she found herself in the familiar but frustrating reality many immigrants face, working survival jobs that didn’t reflect her skill, education, or potential.
However, where others saw limitations, Ibiyemi saw an opportunity to rewrite the story. Today, she is the Founder and CEO of InnovatePath Consulting Limited, a fast-rising UK-based education and consulting platform designed to help immigrants, career changers, and underrepresented professionals transition into high-demand roles across project management, business analysis, product management, data analysis, and virtual assistance.
A recognised LinkedIn Top Voice in Business Analysis and a proud member of ForbesBLK, Ibiyemi is widely known for her practical insights, strategic mentorship, and ability to make career transitions in tech feel human, achievable, and transformative.
Through her growing platforms, including Instagram, live coaching sessions, and private mentorship programs, she is guiding professionals in the UK, Nigeria, Canada, the US, and Germany toward careers they once believed were out of reach.
What began as her personal survival story has now become a system. What started with pain has become a platform. And what was once a quiet dream, has grown into a global movement. In this exclusive spotlight, Ibiyemi Fasipe shares her journey, the impact of InnovatePath, and what it means to build confidence and careers from the ground up.
Tell us about the moment that sparked your mission to help others break into tech.
For me, this work is deeply personal. My passion was born from my own experience of navigating career uncertainty as an immigrant.
When I arrived in the UK from Nigeria, I didn’t have access to the right information. Like many others, I started with low-paying healthcare jobs not because I lacked ability, but because I didn’t know what was possible or how to access better opportunities. That all changed when I stumbled on someone talking about business analysis. It felt like a lightbulb went off.
I realised there was a whole world of opportunity in project management and tech-adjacent roles that didn’t require coding. I took that information, invested in myself, and made the leap. But I couldn’t ignore how many others around me were still stuck, just like I had once been. I kept asking myself, “What if more people knew what I know now?” That’s what led me to start sharing my story and eventually build InnovatePath Consulting.
You speak often about mentorship and hands-on learning. How did that shape your own transition?
My journey wasn’t a straight path. I didn’t have one mentor, but I was intentional about finding community. I joined learning groups, asked questions, followed professionals on LinkedIn, and kept showing up even when I felt unqualified.
The biggest shift came when I realised learning alone wasn’t enough. I needed hands-on experience. So I started volunteering for small projects, building confidence one task at a time.
That’s why InnovatePath focuses so heavily on practical, hands-on learning paired with mentorship. That’s what changed my life. That’s what changes our students’ lives too.
What were some of the hardest challenges in building InnovatePath, and how did you push through?
One of the biggest challenges was building credibility. The tech education space is full of noise, and I didn’t want to be another coach promising unrealistic results. What helped me stand out was staying true to my story and walking people through the exact steps that worked for me.
Another challenge was keeping up with how quickly the industry changes. Tech doesn’t stand still, so we had to constantly update our programs, bring in experts, and ensure everything we taught aligned with real employer needs.
And of course, there were operational challenges, wearing every hat from strategy to admin to marketing. Building a team, trusting others with the vision, and scaling sustainably has taken time. But seeing our students thrive has made every challenge worth it.
You show up online consistently. What keeps you going?
It has never been about visibility. It’s about responsibility. I carry knowledge that changed my life, and I feel called to share it. I believe leadership starts before the spotlight. Some people don’t need a course. They just need someone to say, “This is possible.” Every time I show up, I think of the person on the other side of the screen waiting to be reminded that they can try again.
How has your personal background influenced the way you coach?
It shapes everything. I started from scratch. I know what it’s like to feel stuck, to question your worth, to doubt your next move. That empathy is what makes me coach from experience, not theory.
I focus on strategy, clarity, and confidence. My goal isn’t just to give people information. It’s to give them the tools and mindset to move forward.
What’s been the most rewarding part of building this movement?
The transformations. Seeing people go from self-doubt to leading global projects or finally feeling confident in their career paths, that’s the reward. InnovatePath has helped thousands of people transition into tech roles, and our team of over 20 professionals is only growing. What started as my story is now a system helping people around the world rewrite theirs.
What’s next for you and InnovatePath?
We’re scaling. We’re expanding our corporate training solutions to help startups and companies build stronger teams in project management and product delivery. We’re also focusing on one-on-one mentorship for professionals already in roles but struggling with confidence or execution. Because success doesn’t stop at the job offer. It continues inside the job.
We’re also launching career webinars, community initiatives, and CSR partnerships to help remove barriers and create more access for underrepresented groups. The mission remains the same: help more people realise they’re capable of building lives they’re proud of.
If someone is scared to start, what’s one thing you want them to know?
You don’t need to become someone else to break into tech. You just need to learn how to position the skills you already have. Tech is broad. You don’t need to code. Whether it’s business analysis, project management, or virtual assistance, there is a place for you. What matters is that you start.
You will never feel 100 percent ready. But imperfect action still counts. Growth happens when you move, not when you wait. Just start.
Any final thoughts you’d like to share with our audience?
Your dreams are valid. Your story isn’t finished. And with the right support, you can absolutely change your life.
