Who is “Askdamz” (Full name, background etc.)?

My names is Adedamola Ladejobi. I am a professional nutritionist and weight loss expert and I am also a UK certified personal nutritionist with a diploma in nutrition. I have a law degree from the University of Exeter with a BL from Nigerian law school. I am the first child of my parents; I have one amazing sister (Farah). I am married to my best friend Mr Adebisi Ladejobi and the mother of two lovely children Ifeoluwa and Oluwatobiloba Ladejobi.

What do you consider your greatest achievement so far?

I wouldn’t say there has been one achievement that I will call the greatest, but whenever I have clients who say I have helped them reach their desired weight goal or body goal and how I helped them improve their diet and also live a healthier lifestyle, the joy and fulfilment I have in my heart can’t be contained. That alone I believe is my greatest achievement.

How did your journey as a weight loss coach start?

My Journey as a weight loss coach started due to my personal experience with weight loss. Earlier in my life, I had severe GERD (Gastrointestinal Reflux Disease) and my size affected not only my health but my passion for fashion as well because I couldn’t fit into most of the outfits in the stores. Also knowing that a lot of people are going through these same issues as I did and the drive to want to help people live a healthier lifestyle, look and feel better about themselves hence the birth of Askdamz.

What has been your most embarrassing moment so far?
Whenever I am being invited to talk at any event (anything that involves a lot of people) I am usually very scared as I happen to be a very shy person. It takes the grace of God for me to face a large number of people.

What are the challenges faced being in your line of work?

Challenges that comes with the kind of job I do is when clients complain they do not lose weight which most times has to do with the fact that they are not adhering to the instructions I give them (Am not losing weight) and also most clients are usually in denial of the fact that they have lost weight just because the scale doesn’t move without realising that they have lost lots of inches and feeling better (Non-scale victories).

When you are not working, you are…?

I am a fully devoted wife to my husband (I am what some may call a very traditional wife) and a hands-on mother to my kids. I usually enjoy spending time with my family and oh I love to dance a lot.

What inspires you?

God Almighty is my greatest inspiration, His word and Success inspires me. Whenever I see my clients make huge progress I am always motivated to work harder and develop more ways that I can help my clients lose weight, feel better and generally be healthy.

What advice can you offer to women who want a career in your industry?

My advice first is to practise what you preach, make sure you are enlightened and have been able to lose the weight first before training others. Research new ways to help people and remember it is not always about the money but the greatest reward is to be able to help people live a better and healthy life.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your career to date?

It is not always about the money but the joy I derive each time there are success stories, I have learnt to not always concentrate on what am paid but dedicating my life to helping people become happy again (improving marriages, preventing suicidal thoughts and depression).

What is your favourite Quote?

It doesn’t matter what size you are, you are beautiful in your skin. Don’t try to be like the girl in the magazine, often times even the girl in the magazine doesn’t look like the girl in the magazine. Be your own type of beautiful.
