Who is Nikkie Pryce? (Full name, background etc)
Nikkie Pryce is a very cool, witty, goofy, charismatic communicator that loves people, a lot. I was born in Miami, Fl and grew up in Miramar, Fl. My parents are Jamaican decent, so I am blessed to come from the islands.
What do you consider your greatest achievement so far in life?
My greatest achievement is “finishing” my book Dreamers, Take Action! It was a three year journey that I finally tackled and finished. It’s just a blessing to see it come into fruition. What a journey! I wouldn’t take anything from the process.
What is your organization “The I AM Community” all about?
The I AM Community is a safe haven for dreamers. We encourage self love and self awareness starting with I AM affirmations. We use this platform to lift each other as we go higher. Our primary focus is using I AM affirmations to combat negative thoughts and words. We believe your thoughts + your words + your actions = your reality! Once you focus on creating a positive lifestyle, you are unstoppable!
How was the idea to set up the organization conceived?
The I AM Community came from my own journey of finding self love. I went through stages of depression and I lacked self confidence in myself and my abilities. I remember waking up at 6 am one morning and started writing I AM affirmations on a sheet of paper. I AM worthy, I AM loved, I AM amazing…” as I continued to write I felt empowered and uplifted. I knew I wasn’t the only person who needed this so I decided to share this on my social media platforms. It went viral. The community was already manifested with our words and actions, the name is what brought it to life.
Would you say you have discovered your purpose in life?
Yes, absolutely. For a while I didn’t know what I was here for. I remember spending a lot of time with the Lord and praying that he showed me my purpose. It was always in me, I just didn’t know what it was or how to pull it out. I was put here to inspire and assist people with making their dreams a reality. I am still building and growing each day. But, I certainly see the difference I am making in others.
If yes… how were you able to decipher?
I am a very talented individual as all of us are. I just had to narrow down what I was really passionate about. Once, I figured out helping others reach their own success, and the joy it brought me, I knew this is what I was called to do. It just made sense to me.
What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?
That I have another day and chance to be better than I was the day before. My only competition is myself. So each day I get better and better by asking myself a simple question “what can you do today that’s better than yesterday?”
If you could say something to your 18 year old self, what would it be?
As one of my favorite cousins always tell me, Trust your struggles. Trust your process. This is about to be a rocky ride but lean in and trust that eventually it will all make sense.
What is the most important life lesson you’ve learned so far?
That Gods timing is truly everything. I use to pressure and rush my processes in life. But, it’s through the process that my character is built, that I learn resilience, persistence and faith. I wouldn’t be who I am without any of these attributes.
What is your favorite Quote?
It’s actually a scripture. Jeremiah 29:11– For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
What is your take on “women supporting women”?
I am all for it. We need each other in this thing called life. When you have supportive women around you it changes the game. A woman to root you on, pray for you, encourage you, love on you and be a friend to you. It’s absolutely necessary and my hope is that women find ways to support each other more.
Do you have any mentors and how have they positively aided your journey towards becoming a Motivational Speaker and “Self Love Influencer”?
Yes, I have plenty of mentors. They are women and men who have been with me during my entire process. They have guided me with advice, resources and connections and without them I wouldn’t have gotten this far. I am so THANKFUL!
What inspired the decision to write a book….?
Tell us a little about your book. I believe what I’ve been through these past three years has inspired this journey to write. My mother was a writer. she kept journals and notes all around the house. So, I believe the writers bug was in me all along. I also have a journalism background. So, writing is very expressive for me and I wanted to share my journey as a dreamer in hopes that it would motivate others to act! My book is called Dreamers, take action! The blueprint to go from dreamer to doer. It’s an actionable tool to help others pull out those dreams that are nestled in their hearts. As they work diligently each day on their dreams they will see expected results. This book is a MUSt for any dreamer out there! You can grab your copy at NikkiePryce.com
