Seyi Banigbe is a trained lawyer with an MBA from the Imperial College London. She obtained her Law degree (LLB) from the University of Lagos and was thereafter called to the Nigerian Bar. She is a certified member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) UK and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) UK.
Seyi started her legal career working for many years in the Tax and Corporate Advisory unit of PricewaterHouseCoopers Nigeria and thereafter became Company Secretary/Head, Legal of an indigenous oil and gas firm.
Seyi has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and as a result has started and currently oversees three businesses in Nigeria. The first and most popular being Bland2Glam, a jewellery brand that has revolutionised jewellery design and retail across Nigeria; second business is Nibo&Tac, a corporate/commercial law firm that provides legal advisory & support services to large companies and SMEs; third business is Deterge Nigeria Limited, an organization that specializes in creating awareness about the resulting hazards of using dirty water dispensers alongside providing professional dispenser cleaning services to homes and corporate organisations across Nigeria.

What is your star sign? Aquarius
What are three words that best describe you? Boisterous, adventurous and Deliberate
What inspired your transition from 9 to 5 to Entrepreneurship? The growth experienced with the two companies I started while working full-time, gave me the confidence to throw in the towel and explore the other ideas I had toyed with in my head
Can you tell us about the biggest obstacle you have faced so far and how you overcame it? Biggest obstacle in business would be staffing and I can’t say it’s been fully overcome but I’ll say I am definitely a better recruiter and manager. So what have I learnt over the years about this? Create processes and procedures around everything especially with unskilled staff. Be good to people and hire people with their job description in view, life is a lot easier when people are naturally inclined/trained to do what they are being hired to do.
What is your take on “Women Supporting Women”? Very important and highly essential. I will however not support a lazy woman.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you so far? Be good to people.
When you are not working, what are you doing? I’m a couch potato. Stay at home with my family, watch some good TV and eat some good food.
What is one bad habit you are committed to changing? Chewing ice cubes

What would you like to be remembered for? I’d like to be remembered as someone who made people’s lives and the world at large, a better place.
