Ways to Practice Self Love; Inspired by Glory.

You are very powerful, provided you know how powerful you are. ~Yogi Bhajan

It’s been said ever so often how self-love is essential to living a full and happy life and even though a good number of us have heard and put it into daily practice, some of us still sometimes, struggle with loving ourselves… flaws and all.

Glory Edozien, the founder of Inspired by Glory recently had an Instagram live session where she talked extensively about the importance of self-love and we couldn’t help but take notes and share some very valid points we believe could help you in your journey to self-love.

Accept Yourself
Acceptance is the foundation of everything else to come because if you do not accept yourself, who will? Giving you that love and acceptance that you perhaps seek from others is the first step towards loving yourself.

Value and Develop your Strengths
Focus more on your strengths and develop them so much that you have no time to entertain negative self-talk.

Go Where Love Is
Surround yourself with people who love and appreciate you for who you are. The ones who know you are human and wouldn’t push you to be anything else but yourself.

Create Healthy Boundaries
Create healthy boundaries where necessary. If something you’re not comfortable with is being said to or done to you, be sure to speak up about it and nip it in the bud before such conversations or actions go further than necessary.

Be Nice to Yourself
Often times, we wait on people to be nice to us. Loving yourself means being nice to yourself, treat yourself, compliment yourself, being nice to yourself should be your priority.

Nip Envy in the Bud

It can be very easy to feel envious of someone who has what you wish you did but if you could switch those envious thoughts as they come and fill that space for envy with positivity.

Do the things you love and Stop trying to Impress People

Do more of the things you love, when you do the things you love and flourish at it, you’d be so focused on trying to impress yourself that you’d have no time trying to impress other people.

And her final words during the chat were “Enjoy your life… every aspect of it.” And we couldn’t agree more because why spend your days on earth doing anything else but loving yourself, being true to who you are, living a good life and overall, being happy?!

Three hearty cheers to Glory for reminding us to unapogetically love ourselves and loads of love and light to everyone reading this. Hope you find many more reasons to stay loving yourself every single day, for the rest of your life!

P.S: What are some of the things you do to show yourself more love, please share in the comment section, we’d love to hear from you.
