In The Right Shoes

Sometimes we put on shoes that are oversize or undersized because we couldn’t get them in our size. The oversize leaves a lot of room so we get a shoe pad just to make it fit work while the undersized hurts so much that we console ourselves with the “beauty is pain logic” and wear it anyway.

Some people force themselves into shoes situations that hurt them, make them uncomfortable and sad, but they stay in it anyway because of the impression they are trying to create and the appearances they’re trying to keep up with. The façade has a pretty outlook that gives the impression that they’re walking on sunshine, but in reality, it is not so.

The ones who try to make the oversize shoes fit usually lack the patience, the patience to wait for the right size to arrive, and the need to have it right now because it is supposed to be a “must have” item and almost everyone they know owns one. Sometimes situations require a bit more time to allow for growth in certain areas so as to fit and when you force it to fit you, especially when you are not ready, the damage can be irreversible.

Marilyn Monroe said “Give a girl the right shoes and she will conquer the world”. The way I see it, the right shoes which means, a shoe that fits. She definitely would not be able to conquer the world in shoes that don’t fit because she will be weighed down by the pain of the undersized shoes or the discomfort of the oversize shoes that she has on. High heels, platforms, flats, trainers, regardless of your choice in shoe design, to conquer the world, it is imperative to be IN the right shoes.

In the words of Carl Jung, “The shoes that fit one person, pinches the other, there is no recipe for living that suits all cases”. In my words, don’t force yourself into a situation that’s not for you, if something is meant for you, it will fit you, no struggle, no pain, no force.
