Tell us a little about your professional background and how TEM Nigeria came to be.
My professional journey began with a law degree from the University of Lagos, followed by my call to the Nigerian Bar in 2003. While my early career was in legal and strategic consulting for the oil and gas sector, I realized that many organizations struggled with unlocking the full potential of their people. This led to the founding of TEM Nigeria, a consulting firm dedicated to organizational training and human capacity development. Our goal has always been to empower individuals and organizations with the tools and skills they need to thrive.

You’re very passionate about unlocking the full potential of individuals and organizations through TEM Nigeria. How did you discover this passion and successfully transform it into a business?
My passion for unlocking potential stems from a strong desire to contribute to society. This desire was instilled in me by my mother, Omoninike Tejuoso, who was a strong advocate for education. I recognized that empowering people through education and training was one of the most effective ways to make a lasting impact. TEM Nigeria was born out of this realization. I wanted to create a platform that provides individuals and organizations with customized training and development, enabling them to perform at their best in a competitive world.

In your view, what qualities make a leader truly transformative, and how have you cultivated these qualities in your own leadership journey?
A truly transformative leader is one who is adaptable, empathetic, and visionary. They must be able to see beyond the current challenges and look at the bigger picture, while also connecting with people on a personal level. In my leadership journey, I’ve cultivated these qualities by remaining open to learning, staying engaged with industry trends, and constantly seeking ways to empower others. Mentorship and collaboration are also key pillars of my approach, as I believe that helping others grow is a critical part of transformative leadership.

Can you share some of the key changes you’ve implemented at TEM Nigeria that have redefined business practices both in Europe and Nigeria? What inspired these transformations?
One of the key changes I’ve implemented at TEM Nigeria is the adoption of cutting-edge technologies in our training programs. This includes e-learning platforms that allow clients to access training from anywhere in the world, ensuring flexibility and scalability. Additionally, I’ve restructured our consulting services to focus on more collaborative partnerships, which help foster sustainable development for our clients. These changes were inspired by the need to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving global market, where adaptability and innovation are essential.

As a woman leading in a predominantly male industry, what have been some of the most significant obstacles you’ve successfully navigated in your journey?
One of the significant obstacles I’ve faced is overcoming biases in industries that are traditionally male-dominated, such as oil and gas. Navigating these spaces required resilience and a strong belief in my vision. I’ve had to constantly prove my value and breakthrough stereotypical barriers. Over time, I’ve learned that the best way to overcome these challenges is by demonstrating expertise, staying authentic to my leadership style, and continually delivering results that speak for themselves.

How have you used your position to empower and mentor other women within TEM Nigeria and the broader business community?
Mentorship is a core part of our ethos at TEM Nigeria. I’ve initiated several mentorship programs within the company aimed at providing women with opportunities to grow their leadership skills, develop confidence, and navigate challenges in male-dominated industries. Additionally, I frequently participate in speaking engagements and panels focused on women’s leadership, where I share my experiences and provide guidance to young women aspiring to make their mark in business. I am very proud today that TEM Nigeria is driven by very determined and forward-thinking women who make a core part of our team and operations.

Can you discuss a particular international project that was pivotal in your career and how the global perspective gained influenced your leadership at TEM Nigeria?
One of the most pivotal international projects I’ve worked on involved providing organizational training for a major oil company with roots in both Africa and Europe. The project not only broadened my understanding of global business practices but also reinforced the importance of cultural adaptability in leadership. This experience helped shape my approach at TEM Nigeria, where we now offer solutions that are both globally relevant and locally tailored to meet the unique needs of the Nigerian market.

TEM Nigeria’s innovative approach to business development and service delivery is commendable. Tell us some innovative strategies you’ve implemented at TEM Nigeria that have driven growth and improved service delivery.
At TEM Nigeria, we’ve integrated data analytics into our training programs to better assess the impact and effectiveness of our services. This allows us to fine-tune our approach and ensure that clients receive measurable results. We’ve also leveraged digital transformation by offering virtual training sessions, enabling us to reach clients across Nigeria and internationally. These strategies have driven growth by expanding our reach and ensuring that we can deliver high-quality services efficiently.

Looking to the future, are there any upcoming projects or initiatives that you’re particularly excited about?
I am very passionate about improving the employability of our young graduates here in Nigeria, and young people in the Nigerian, and African job market. My experience working with various organizations to build a stronger and more driven workforce has opened me up to the awareness that employability is a huge problem in today’s job market. This passion has led me to create free employability training for young graduates and corpers under the TEM Nigeria umbrella. I am also set to release a book in the coming months that provides insight into the necessary skills needed to thrive in today’s global workforce. I am very excited about these two projects amongst the line-up of impactful initiatives that TEM Nigeria is set to embark on in the coming months.
