Unlocking Women’s Economic Power: The She Tank and BellaNaija Launch National Campaign.

Inspiring campaign ignites conversations around women’s financial independence and its ripple effects on society.
The She Tank and BellaNaija have joined forces to launch the groundbreaking “Her Money, Her Power” campaign this September. This first-of-its-kind initiative tackles the urgent need to elevate Nigerian women’s economic power, a crucial step toward achieving gender equality and combating poverty in the nation.

The campaign addresses the persistent economic hurdles faced by Nigerian women and the broader impact on society. While strides have been made, significant gender gaps in wage equality, earned income, access to capital, and professional opportunities persist due to prevailing negative attitudes about women wielding economic influence.

Blessing Omakwu, Founder of The She Tank, emphasizes the campaign’s focus on “elevating the conversation around women’s economic advancement by highlighting the critical distinction between empowerment and power.” She asserts that true economic power empowers women to not only access resources but also have a voice, make choices, and shape their financial futures.

The campaign features a TV segment on Big Brother Nigeria, a dynamic digital campaign across BellaNaija’s platforms, and impactful ads, all designed to spark national dialogue and shift mindsets about women’s economic potential.

Uche Pedro, Founder of BellaNaija, believes that women’s economic power leads to a more joyful, financially stable society. “In my opinion, it sparks joy as women are more fulfilled, it brings more financial stability to families, enables communities to recover faster from setbacks, and drives economic growth and resiliency at the national level,” she said.

The campaign invites Nigerians everywhere to join the conversation, ask questions, and lend their voices to create a ripple effect of positive impact. Follow the movement on BellaNaija’s platforms with the hashtag #HerMoneyHerPower.
